The computer science department of Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz looks back on over 40 years tradition in teaching, research and development in eastern Saxony. Main areas of interest today are methods, foundations and technologies for software development in current application areas including business intelligence, mobile computing and embedded systems. The department is part of the faculty of electrical engineering and computer science with 22 professorships and a significant portion of third party R&D funding.
The Computer Science department is located in the picturesque, international town of Görlitz/Zgorzelec which is located on the border between Germany and Poland. We are proud that we are able to provide our teaching usually with at most 15 students being supervised in the laboratory lessons. Being strongly connected to the local software industry our students get experience in professional software development far before their graduation. Besides the B.Sc. complimentary professional certificates including ISTQB can be accomplished in our courses.
